About Me
From Shattered Dreams to Beacon of Hope: My Journey in Maternal Mental Health
My passion for empowering others has always been a driving force in my life. However, it was in 2015, after facing my own personal struggles with pregnancy loss, that this passion truly ignited. My experiences led me to discover a profound desire to support individuals navigating the complexities of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.
Having experienced the emotional rollercoaster of multiple, different losses myself, I understand firsthand the fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming sadness that can accompany such challenges. Fueled by a deep empathy and a commitment to helping others, I pursued a degree in psychology.
After earning a First Class Honours degree, I joined the NHS Maternal Mental Health Service, benefiting from further training in trauma informed care, perinatal loss and mental health training. I had the opportunity to contribute to building a vital support system for individuals and families facing various challenges. My work involved providing support and guidance to those experiencing birth loss, trauma, and tokophobia.
Today, I am excited to share that I am currently focusing on the individual coaching support I offer to those facing pregnancy, baby loss and pregnancy after loss. Bolstering my skills with further education as a counsellor in training. I am also passionate about opportunities for public speaking about pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss, the physical and mental impact and navigating this difficult road. Additionally, I offer management training courses specifically designed to address pregnancy loss in the workplace. These courses draw not only on my own experiences but also on the collective wisdom and insights gathered from my clinical practice.
I also provide training courses for healthcare professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to offer compassionate and effective support to individuals experiencing pregnancy loss. By sharing my story and providing resources, I aim to create a more supportive environment for all those facing these challenges.
Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue forging new alliances and initiatives to address these often-silenced challenges. My ultimate goal? To create a world where everyone facing difficulties on the path to parenthood feels seen, heard, and fully supported.
